Where to find me
|
Zumba has become my new passion. Since I’m all of 5’ nothing, I always chose the front row. It only took one class and I was hooked! I don’t have any formal dancing under my belt, but if you count partying down from Thursday night to Sunday at WSU, then that would be it. I have since given up a part-time job in order to pour my heart and soul into dance fitness. As a child, teenager and young adult I was overweight. At certain times in my life, according to doctor’s charts, I was considered obese. Like many, I tried various diets and exercise regimes, but nothing ever stuck. It all got old, boring and unrealistic to maintain as a lifestyle. Zumba never gets old for me, is NEVER boring and certainly fits into a healthy lifestyle. Who doesn’t love a good beat? For me, Zumba is “exercise in disguise”.
A little history and fun facts about me: I’ve been married for 20 years to a man who keeps me laughing at life’s simplest things. I have two children, Tristen and Ruby, ages 17 and 13 who make me both insane and insanely proud. I graduated from Washington State University with a BA in Communications and a formal minor in Women’s Studies, not knowing what I would do with either one. I enjoy long drives on less traveled roads, taking literally hundreds of photos on family vacations and consuming a minimum of 2 drive-thru Americanos per day (hence I must maintain part-time employment to support my coffee habit). In my ‘spare’ time, I do enjoy a good book. A favorite would be Into the Wild. And if I can stay awake longer than my kiddos, I enjoy watching a good flick with my hubby – anything showcasing Brad Pitt will do J My son, Tristen, was actually named after Brad’s character in the movie, Legends of The Fall. |
